Parking
is free and equally convenient
For your convenience, a family member or friend can
park momentarily at the admissions area in front of
the hospital so you can walk right into the admitting
department. They can then continue down the driveway
and into the parking deck, where the hospital provides
free parking.
Please
leave expensive items such as jewelry at home. Any valuables
that you do bring with you must be checked with the
admitting clerk and placed in the hospital safe.
What
to expect upon your arrival
Today, many hospital patients are “pre-admitted.”
However, some patients go through our complete admissions
procedure as they enter PMCC. We think you will find
this procedure is really quite simple:
When
you arrive, the admitting staff will ask you for some
standard information (name, date of birth, address,
doctor’s name, etc.) They will also need to
know about your insurance. They will ask you the name
of your insurance company, your group number, and
a contract number to verify your coverage. Often,
insurance companies provide cards that list this information,
and you can present it to the admitting staff.
The admitting staff will explain deductibles, co-payment
requirements, and any areas not covered by your policy.
If you do not have insurance, you will be asked to
pay a deposit based upon the treatment you will receive
and your expected length of stay.
Once admitted, you will be given an identifying wristband.
This allows hospital personnel to check your name
and patient number without disturbing your rest. An
attendant will escort you to your room.
We
make every effort to give you the type of room you want
(private or semi-private). If an emergency or overcrowding
prevent you from getting your first choice, we will
provide you with another room as soon as possible.
