Visitor Information

We are happy for you to have visitors because the warmth and concern of family members and friends are an important part of your recovery. To make sure they do not disturb your rest and care, however, we ask that you have no more than two visitors at one time.

In general, children must be 12 or older to visit a patient. However, age restrictions may vary on some units. Consult your nurse for age restrictions on your unit. Children under 12 are permitted in the main lobby, first floor, and the cafeteria, but they must be accompanied by an adult.

Visiting hours vary according to the type of treatment you are given. In general patient-care areas, for example, visiting hours are from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Specific visiting hours for other areas of the hospital, such as ICU, are outlined in your admissions packet.

PMCC has many facilities and services designed to make you and your visitors more comfortable during your stay in the hospital:

Physicians Medical Center Plaza Hotel - Onsite hotel accommodations are available for visitors.

Mail- Your mail is sorted and brought to you every morning except Sunday. We are also glad to place your letters in the mail. For your convenience, a mail drop is located on the first floor of the hospital.

Telephone- The telephone in your room provides both local and long distance service. Your phone number is displayed on your telephone. Please feel free to give this number to friends and family.

Television- Remote control color television and cable service are provided at no charge. A channel guide is included in your admissions packet. PMCC provides information about the Medical Center, as well as specific medical programming on a hosted channel.

Flowers and Gifts- We are happy for you to receive flowers and gifts. They will be delivered to your room as they arrive. (All electrical appliances must be approved by hospital personnel to check for proper grounding.)

The Gift Shop- The Gift Shop is adjacent to the main lobby. It has a nice assortment of magazines, candy, toys, flowers, and gifts for both children and adults.

The Crossroads Cafeteria- The cafeteria, located on the north wing of the second floor, serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

The Peppercorn Grill- The snack bar is located near the main lobby on the first floor and serves breakfast, sandwiches, chicken fingers, light snacks, coffee, and soft drinks. It is open from 6:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m. Vending machines are available in an area near the snack bar.

Subway- Located on the 1st floor of the Norwood Clinic Plaza Building, we are open Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The Chapel- The chapel, on the first floor of the hospital, is available for you and your visitors at all times. Nondenominational worship services are held on a regular basis. A schedule for these services is posted near the chapel.

Hair Salon- The hair salon is also located on the first floor. A beautician can arrange to visit your room; or, if your doctor feels you are well enough, you may visit the salon. Your nurse can make an appointment for you. (Visitors are also welcome.)

Newspapers- Several newspapers can be purchased from machines located throughout the Medical Center.
